Too late for us. We have already prepaid for funeral services. We paid for cremation at the funeral home. We paid for our columbarium at our church. I made the urns to go into the columbarium. And the obituary's are pre paid. I think that primarily you are buying an insurance policy to cover the costs. The insurance company should make enough money off your investment to cover any increase in the costs. We have no life insurance any longer. Our term policies ran out but, we were able to save enough that we have more in investments than we ever had before in insurance anyway. Our children are grown and gone and should receive some inheritance (if I don't spend it first) and that should cover any unexpected expenses later. At the age of 65 (I'm 72 now) I decided that any future burden for my kids should not be a problem for them and planed ahead. So sorry things didn't work out in your case. I think that I would find a good lawyer to help out.
