Everybody has flashlights. But the technology has improved considerably since I was a Boy Scout. Picked up this flashlight the other day at the PX. Pretty decent LED light. Aircraft aluminum body, big magnet in the base (removable), switch is where I like it, 250 lumens, opens up for a wide work light, uses 4 AAA cells. 6.5" closed, 9" open. $19.

It's amazing how bright those LED lights are. I was standing in front of one of those construction flood lamps, the kind that used take the halogen tube bulbs. Wondering how bright it was I turned it on.

I don't recommend it.
