I am still here. It has been an, well, interesting year for me. I spent the first 4 months alternating between sick and really sick with a cold, or something, that would not go away. I had no energy or ambition. As a result, I was a month and a half late for my re-opening at our local Farmer's Market. I did get enough made to open in the middle of May. I did pretty well this year, actually made some money. I got several orders for special items, including an urn to hold 2 adults and one child. The lady who made the order agreed on the design and price, she is now saving money to pay for it. I am only charging her my cost. An order for 2 loungers for this coming summer, and a trellis for this spring.

LOML's grand daughter is having a baby now. By now, I mean she is in labor at the hospital. Sienna Ruth is due any minute. I made a cradle for the baby, and if I can remember how to post pictures, I will do so. My grand daughter is having a baby in February, and I just finished a 2nd cradle, and will be delivering that on Saturday.

My 2nd grand daughter is graduating from college in March, so a hope chest is in order for her. That work starts in January.

Some may remember my saga of the scroll saw. Well, I love my DeWalt. It cuts much better than I do, as do the Flying Dutchman blades, so it has been a learning experience. I am getting better, even sold a few things at the market. Leaves are a big seller, along with 'fridge magnets and tea light holders. I made a couple of boxes for gifts, and they went over well.

I had to have a license and business name to be at the market. The only thing I could come up with at the time was “Bob's Boards”. Kinda hokey, so I am changing it to “Blue Dragon Woodworking”. New logo and business cards. I don't know why Blue Dragon other than I like the color blue and dragons.

I got a copy of CorelDraw for not a whole lot of money and have been working on my own scroll saw patterns. I have made a few with the help from Steve Good and his blog. He has over 1000 patterns for free at his web sight. I highly recommend it. http://stevedgo.ipower.com/cat/ His blog is http://www.scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com.

Well, I guess that kinda catches me up. I hope all my friends here had a great year. I will try to keep up better this year.

Hey Bob,

Good to hear from you, and good to hear that you're doing better. Bouncing back from and extended illness is tough, I know.
I'll be anxious to hear how your small business progresses, as I'm expecting to retire from the gooberment service this year. So I expect to be going through the same process soon.

Cheers,
Tom

Good to hear you are doing better. It seems the older I get the longer colds hang on. Had one this fall and it took many weeks and meds for a secondary infection to get back to normal.

Hears a sales pitch..........Buy Blue Dragon and you won't have a Blue Christmas!

Glad to hear that you're feeling better and having fun with your scroll saw. :-D I don't use my scroll saw as much as I used to but, it still comes in handy for a lot of things that I have been doing.

If you lived in Hutchinson, Kansas, the "Blue Dragon" name would make perfect sense. Our community college is known as "The Hutchinson Blue Dragons". That is their mascot.

Wow! Good to see your smilin' ascii here once again.

Bravo on the projects. Maybe one of these days I'll get up enough ambition to keep up with ya.

Understand about the cold thing. Been there once too often myself, so take it easy, get enough rest, and keep pounding those keys. Really appreciate getting the news.

Great to hear that back and keeping busy. I really hate being sick, as I know others do also. Sounds like you have been real busy in the shop, and hope to see some of you accomplishments.

Again, welcome back.

Glad to hear things are on the upswing. Getting a license can be a big time problem. Paper work can really be a problem .I gave mine up when I retired. Now I just sell by word of mouth. I sell enough to keep going replacing the materials I use up, and only make what I want to make rather than making whatever the customer wanted.
