I went to the county fair north of us today since it is quite large and I go every year to get my supply of pencils and note pads from the political canidates running for office. This year not a single canidate was giving out pencils or note pads! The entire day all I got was one pen from a construction company that was building small storage barns. Other years I would collect a large supply of pens, note pads, pencils, etc. Things are really tough!

Our crop was handing out things like emery boards and (appropriately enough for some) suckers this year. Weird. Since that was only the primary batch, the real candidates may have more Chinese treats to pass around.

The drug companies are still passing around pens and pads, so ask your doctor. My kid thinks it's a hoot to give old dad a Viagra or Cialis logo promotional item.

I am running out of the post it note pads my daughter gave me three years ago. She works for a large drug company.
