I've got a wedding this coming weekend, so I picked up a new toy for my camera...

flip bracket which allows me to get the flash up off of the hot shoe, better even illumination, and I can keep it 'above' the camera when I shoot vertically as well.

Whoosh.....way, way over my head, Ned

BUT, if you say it's a great thing for your camera, and since I know what you're talking about when it comes to cameras....then it MUST be a great thing :D

Have fun

Verna

Ned,

You will love it. It helps spread the light and eliminate hot spots. It also will eliminate the flash showing up in eye glasses.

Really amazing part of it is that 's where the flash used to be until the advent of point and shoot. Had a monster old Honeywell bracketed on the side of my 6x6 back when. Couple thicknesses of Kleenex will give great diffusion for close shots, so don't just think bounce, which can produce shadows in places people will notice because they're used to flash on camera.

More things change, more they stay the same. Somewhere in one of the garage boxes there's one of those ancient fan-fold types waiting for the return of the flash bulb.

Good score Ned. I have a very old one, just an L shaped and they do come in handy.

Put the bracket (and flash and camera) to good use this weekend
