I just wanted to pop in and say hello to my friends here. My woodworking tools have been lonely for over a year now. I did however use the table saw and miter saw during a recent bathroom remodel. I took two weeks off from work to complete the job.

Working 50+ hours a week and raising 3 kids has my schedule maxed out. I elected to roll my tools aside so my Wife's new Yukon XL could be garaged as I was lucky to get in 2 hours a week woodworking.

I love woodworking and haven't abandoned the hobby, I'll be back when the time is right and will log in here when I can.

A recent photo of the kids, Joshua age 3, Kayla and Cassandra 17 mos.

Thanks for poping in! I was wondering what happened to you, glad it is good news.
Enjoy those kids as much as you can now, they sure grow up fast. There will be plenty of time for wood working later.
When your old and grey like me you wont regret the time spent with them and you will have alot of grandchildren to make things for. :-D

Ditto what Rog and Lawrence said! Who could blame you for keeping busy with that armful of joy?

Wod working is enjoyable, but children are a pleasure. Whil I was raising the kids I did very little woodworking(outside of the furniture business which was neccesary to pay the bills ). Now with the grandkids we get to spend alot of time making wooden toys and testing them.

Glad all is going well with your beautiful family!
WOW! The twins are getting big. Seems like yesterday
you built their cradles.

With a crew like that, it's no wonder you're busy!

Thanks for the comments and complements friends. My Son will be 4 in July and the Girls 2 in October. The cradles have long since been outgrown and await their next occupant. Glad they are a knock down design and we packed them away in a box in the attic. The attic heat takes a toll on the oil and varnish finish and they will surely need another application in a few years.

I'm glad their cribs are not my works of wood art as they both have chewed there end and rear crest rails. So much so that Beth wanted something done to prevent them from possibly choking on wood fragments. I attached Plexiglas the the end rails and we bought a pad to cover the rear crest rail.

The changing tables, toy box and toddler book case are getting plenty of use and are still in like new condition.

Thanks for reading, Dewayne

You've got your priorities right, Dewayne! There will always be wood, and always be woodworking. You'll never have another chance to participate in your childrens' youth. You've got a beautiful family there, bud.

Most of my interests took back burner for the kids, the second starts college in the fall and with only one home that should free me up a little. Enjpy the kids while they are home, the other stuff can wait. Thanks for checking in. :)
