We have certainly heard some unusual reasons for workers to strike. However, some Danes have one that I think most will find shocking!

A bunch of Danes are striking because they can no longer drink beer at work!

It was a brewery by the way. AB now Inbev used to have beer on the job for the workers while at work and could take 2 cases a week home. Some people have all the perks.

They recently released a study saying the Danes are happier than any other population on earth.

This gives some insight as to why that may be.

I wonder if they were to measure happiest on earth again if they have fallen after this.

There used to be a brewery in Philacalled Schmidts and the workers were allowed to drink beer anytime at work but they had to buy their beer for home. The poor guys had to pay 3.00 a case

The company I used to work for was German owned and all of the German plants had beer on tap! This was quite a change for any employees sent to Germany for training on new machines.

A little off topic, but back in my Bomb Loading days at DM AFB, we were allowed up to 2 beers during our shift. Even on days when we were loading live MK-82's, the 500 lb High Explosive Bomb that can take out large buildings and such.

Later, when I retrained into Combat Arm Training and Maint. (CATM) and I carried a .38 special on my hip, I wasn't allowed to have a single drink within 8 hours of coming on duty. Go figure.

No smoking 12 hours before, and no drinking within 100 feet of the aircraft. Or was it the other way 'round?

12 hours bottle to throttle.... pretty well enforced too (these days)

But as for alcohol in the workplace-- that's a different story which we can discuss in 3 years, 5 months, and 28 days.....

I am in the 42ECS...

Hey Guys,

I was once treated to a beer by an Australian sailor. After offering to buy me a beer, he invited me on board the frigate were he was berthed.

After a brief tour, we ended at the pursers office. He walked up to the dutch door and asked for his ration. The purser's mate brought up two cans of Foster's, opened them, and handed them to my new friend.
He said that he got two of those a day, but he had to drink them in the mess.:D
