Did you know Amazon offers a free download of their Kindle program for PC's? http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/r ... 1000426311 .

And a several FREE Woodworking books formatted for Kindle, which you can download. I just loaded up this one: Woodworking Tools from 1600 to 1900. http://www.amazon.com/Woodworking-Tools ... 262&sr=1-3

How about that?! :D

Only a few people in 2010 would get excited about reading a book 400 years old on a computer..........Wonder what things would be like if the tables were turned????? :D Oh yea, I don't think they had puters back then.

Just kidding you a bit Gene, I know you enjoy the older stuff, and that is good. It is just not my cup of tea. I have trouble getting ready for the 1980s :D :D :D

Maybe not the same as modern gizmos, but the Antikythera device has been called an ancient computer, although I doubt the ancient Greeks used that terminology. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism. Folks are still trying to figure out where the USB port is. And the Baghdad battery about the same time, so electricity was known. Who knows, maybe they did have an internet back then.

Anyway about the Kindle thing. I downloaded a few. The free ones are rather disappointing. There were a couple that said "fully illustrated", but weren't. Oh, well. I'll try nearly anything twice if it's free. Once if it costs me. :)
