Some nice shots Ned. One thing I'd recommend though is to use a tripod when ever possible. I notice a good amount of movement in the flag pic. With a tripod and cable release that could have been overcome. Or if you don't have that, you can set you camera on a pack, or sandbag, and then use the self timer built into most cameras. Frame the shot and make your settings, then set the timer, hit the release, and finally let go of the camera and let it take the shot. Even with a long exposure, you'll get a good crisp shot.
I tend to have the same problems these days. I'm always in such a hurry to get a shot that I don't always take the time to set it up and do it right, and consequently, I have a lot of blurry pics on my computer.
