We got :

Pork and Kraut (cooked with beer, gravy and brown sugar)
Roast pork with rosemary and garlic
Hoppin John
Mashed potatoes
Peas
Pumpkin Pie

Whatever my wife wants to make for desert (Store bought Ice cream this year)

We are of German decent and Sour Kraut is a MUST on New Years Day.

King crab, lobster tails, prawns,Portuguese sausage, corn, red onion, celery, new potatoes, champagne (just enough to fill two glasses) of course melted butter...

then watched the midnight fire works from our Lanai

We had bratwurst boiled in beer, grilled; German kraut, turnip/mustard greens with ham hocks, blackeyed peas with ham hocks, and hard rolls for the Brats.

Simple--I had to work -- I put it in the crockpot before I left for work.

Ham (tradition, must have ham) and beans with sweet cornbread. And coleslaw (traditon, must have cabbage).

And Black and Blue Vino!!!! Mix equal amounts of Blueberry Wine and Blackberry Wine to get Black and Blue--delicious!!!!

What, no pickled herring? Even my hillbilly mom made sure we had herring every new year. Not that she'd eat it herself, mind you.

Tastes better'n lutefisk, that's for sure.

We just don't get much affordable seafood here in the mountains of NE Georgia.......
