For those who served and lost their lives at Pearl Harbor 68 years ago today...

First thing that I thought of this morning when I looked at the calendar.

Such a terrible thing to happen in such a beautiful place.

Hummmm....the dumb question to me today was "Why is that flag at half-staff?"... My answer of "Pearl Harbor" brought a bit of a silence--I think embarrassment for forgetting.

We must never forget.

What kind of gets my goat, is all the flags that weren't flying at half staff today.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the reminder.

An interesting side note: The last time that I visited the Arizona Memorial, there were more Japanese visitors than American, and they all took their visit very seriously, and with more grace and reverence than most.

There is another memorial to the casualties of that infamous date, at the cemetery on Oahu. Unfortunately, it often goes unnoticed.

Tom
