For God's sakes people can we spell out the complete words for us totally ignorant people that don't text message people. I read post here and other places and I don't have a clue as to what they are saying. What is a SWMBO? After talking to my work mates we figured out MIL, I think! There is a whole bunch more that I don't know. Oh I know what WTF is that is obvious. I just hope don't start speaking to one another like that face to face.

If you don't know it, and it's not obvious by content, LOOK IT UP!

Just consider an acronym an alternate spelling.

If you decide to create your own, be sure to clear it through the proper organization - Clever Acronyms Capture Attention, or "CACA" for short.

Nope, I meant STFU, I think Gene got it. It is similar to " Loose lips sink ships" but more direct. If you need to know PM me and Ill fill you in with a full color poster too boot!

Acronyms are fun, if not bedeviling !

I was jarred into realization that it has another meaning when I checked my credit card after purchase of a questionable 3-step ladder. The company listed it as "POS...." which meant either they had seen it too, or they meant Point of Sale.

Poor Robert you probably have him really frustrated by now  :D

There are still some of the 'shortcuts' that I have to think about, or look up.

Vicia I am OK, In my shop at work we tell everyone to leave their feelings at home so I am used to ribbing. :) But about accronyms they drive me nuts sometimes. I work at a very large research hospital and every dept or unit has their own little special accronym. They call us to repair their equipment and say they are in the MICU or SICU or CCDU or some other unit. They get an attitude when I ask them where is that? And a liitle indignent when I say I don't know what or where that is. Please give me a building name and a room number please. :)
