LOVE IT!

Did, however, get my kids two noisy mobiles, one for the front of their house, one for the deck, after a steady week worth of black bear morning visits. The two year old loved to look at them.

Son in Law got a pistol.

I just take my wife with me when I go out in bear country, they are scared to death of her!

that's definately an oldie but a goodie-- nice sign too!

Reminds me of the 2 hippies wearing sandals that went for a walk in the woods.... after a couple of miles they saw a bear on the next ridge over... it turned and started lumbering their way very quickly. One of the guys reached in his backpack and pulled out a pair of tennis shoes and started putting them on. The other guy exclaimed "what are you doing? surely you can't outrun that bear?!" The first guy turned and said "I don't have to, I just have to outrun you!"

Little bells... I love it

People in BC seem to have a good sense of humor when it comes to signs:

My brother has a trail building business, and spent all last summer building near a city with multiple bear attacks with nary a sign of 'em on his trail.

On the last day on his way home he stopped at a previous trail he built for a bike ride, leaving his pepper spray and .44 in the truck. He stopped for a picture, only to see Mama grizzly bear and cub only a few hundred feet away. At that moment Mama bear decided to charge him. Well as any reasonable human being would do he ran off screaming like a girl.

As he retells the story, the bear was just a jump behind him the whole way, and could have had him any time. At some point she decided she'd had enough entertainment and turned back.

He then went back to the truck to get the pepper spray and .44. Once he got back to the bicycle, the bear was no longer in the vicinity.

He wrote us all later to remind us to carry our pepper spray and firearms and not take it all for granted. He didn't want us to turn into bear poop either.

That's why we have no bears in Hawaii.

Learn people learn...
