About three years ago i had a back surgery and all was well for six weeks. Then just sitting in church on the pew really enflamed the back. The surgeon just said you must have enflamed it and prescribed some pills that gave some relief but not much. He refused to do an MRI to see what went wrong and no other surgeon would look at it for at least a year after surgery. Then Covid hit and they were only doing emergency surgeries.I have been in pain for almost three years. I finally found a surgeon who would look at my back, he scheduled an MRI and found a herniated disc and said he could operate on it. So now all I have to do is wait to get it scheduled since the person who does his scheduling wasn't in. While I have worked through the pain the pain distracted me and i have made many mistakes and not done several things I would do, if it wasn't for the pain. I was well on the way to becoming an alcoholic, trying to relieve the pain enough to sleep. Now I have hope things will get better.

Unrelenting pain is the most ignored/underrated thing in the medical
world. It is also the most dangerous as it can and will lead to many
other worse things as you have found out.
Very glad you have found someone who will help and I wish you the very best.
Prayers

Well I am going to get the surgery tomorrow if all goes well. A lot of delays but the time has come. You won't be hearing from me for quite a while since the computer is down stairs and I will be upstairs recovering ( or six feet down ).

Best wishes for a speedy recovery from one who has suffered for 49 years with chronic and never-ending back pain.

Get well soon!

I am home, the surgeon discovered a vascular tumor in my spine when he went into correct a herniated disc. He was confident that he removed all of the tumor. We are awaiting tests on weather it was benign or cancerous. It will be quite awhile until I am up and about. I am trying to learn how to use an I pad until
I can get back on my computer

Glad things went well and maybe the tumor was causing some of the pain.
good luck with the Ipad I am too challenged to attempt to learn many of todays
tech items.

Hope you continue to improve.

I made it down to the computer today after taking a shower. The shower and computer were both down stairs while I am up stairs.Things have not gone as well as I hoped as far as the pain is considered but I still have hope. Here is a shot the the seventeen stiches in the back.

The doctor called Saturday and the tumor was benign (non cancerous ). I still have pain but it getting less, I walked ten minutes on the treadmill today so there is still hope that the operation will give me relief. As Adam Clayton Powel always said:" Keep the faith, baby, keep the faith."

Well that sounds like you’re on the good side of this thing in several ways!
