Hey Folks,

It's Gravenstien season again, for the next week or so. Unfortunately, my apples (all six) were infested with coddling moth larvae to some degree. I was only able to use parts of three of them. Fortunately, the local farmer's market had some nice looking specimens (apples, not larvae) that I was able to take advantage of.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to control the bugs better next year (year 4).

Cheers,
Tom

Our apples are always quite a bit later than yours, Tom. Looks like we'll get a pretty good harvest, though.

Hey Dennis,

I think that's just because gravensteins are early apples. Nothing else is ripe yet in our area.

Cheers,
Tom

Nice looking dessert there Tom! Pa has some great apples..........not always the prettiest, but delicious.

I did notice on my trip up your way, and recently on a trip to CO, how smooth skinned and tasty the yams are out that way. The yams I get out East taste fine, but the skin is not smooth and the flesh not usually as dark............Am i off topic now? :-D
