satisfaction of having one is usually enough reason for a new tool. Making that tool yourself makes the having just a tad sweeter. Having the tool and not needing it is much better than needing it and not having it :roll:. That is particularly true when the tool is a small step off the beaten path. A bull nose or chisel plane is in the nice but not necessary category.... except when you need it, and here’s how to make one.

Yup, you can use some more scrap from the offcut box and make the plane from some really exotic wood and have a plane AND a conversation piece.
