are some parameters for tool use. What is the job or project and what type of wood, how much effort are you going to put into the job and the tools used, how fast will you work and use the tools? One item stands out as common to all those points. The commonality is the edge of the tool used. A screwdriver blade must fit the socket on the screw. The saw blade must be appropriate to the work. And a primary point of the tool is its edge. Sharper makes for accuracy, ease of use and safety. Here is a brief discussion on sharpenin an edge. Most of the article is old news to most of us but worth reading just to refresh and reinforce out knowledge
