can all agree that the grain of the wood in our projects is very important. The grain in many cases dictates how the wood is worked. The grain, particularly figured grain, can elevate a project to another level. For the most part however the wood grain is monochrome, a pale ivory to warm cocoa in color. There are exceptions such as ebony yellowheart, purpleheart. If you use dyes, you can dramatically alter the character of the project and still let the natural grain of the workpieces show through.
