Super sharp carbide and steel spinning at 3grand plus should be intimidating. That's why push blocks and sticks and featherboards are stress reducers. Push blocks and sticks can be as simple as a hunk of gnarly old scrap or as elaborate as imagination and technology can make them. Featherboards also can be that way too but they usually require a little more finess in their fabrication. The object of both is to secure a workpiece as it contacts an edge of some kind and to keep human digits removed from rather than removed by the cutting edge. Here is one way to make a featherboards for your tool arsenal and to defend your digits

Take some time and explore the "Accessories " and the "Tips and Tricks" tabs on the left side of the page, who knows you might find something useful there.
