Here is an article on rust prevention published in 2012. Rust seems to be forever so I guess the article should still make sense. Rust is a cat with many skins and just as many opinions on dealing with it.

NOTE: The article author is a hand tool advocate so there is bias in the article. Then again, tools are tools.
