and those of us who have an interest in them, here is a source for exotics to be used for stocks and grips. My understanding of re-stocking and fitting is that it needs meticulous attention to detail and patience. After looking at prices for figured and exotics used for grips and stocks I can understand that need for attention. It also seems to me that getting into the concentration required might be super relaxing in that you tune out everything except the detail you are working on

True, about focus on the details and precision. I've made a number of revolver and semi-auto pistol grips, but never a rifle stock. Grips and stocks are a combination of precision engineering and artistry. The people who buy these from custom makers are a difficult bunch to please, and demand absolute perfection. Often because they are to be mounted on very expensive firearms, not just your everyday bangstick.
