thought, if you even never thought about them. Most major shop power tools have them but they seldom draw the attention a blade or bit or drum does, but without them nothing happens. Drive belts need attention just like the stuff that meets the wood. This URL (all 28 pages) should explain all you probably need to know about drive belts. The reading is kinda stiff going but then most really important information isn't delivered with a chuckle, well maybe a wink and a nudge but not usually.

I put a link belt and machined sheaves on my ancient CRAFTSMAN bench top saw and never looked back and am super happy. That is my only tool that has link belts. I honestly believe that most of us only have v belt driven tools.
