 Post subject: Tighter miter

Since a miter joint is end grain to end grain, whats a poor woodworker to do? Wellll try this.

Yes, I've done that one a few times and it works great.
I've also done this one, a different approach to splines.
Yes it is visible from the side and works best on thicker, more rustic type of frames. But it sure increases the strength of the miter and is easier to accomplish quickly.

It is basically a "Dutchman" I guess. I won't claim that I invented it, but I had never seen it done before I did it. LOL
