way to combat mosquitos. This article in the current issue of the LEE VALLEY e-newsletter I subscribe to. Very basic construction and no finishing--sweet. Another good basic project for a young helper or a youth club that needs mentoring. Good lessons here about natural solutions to ongoing situations. Maybe not a useful colony this year but next? ZIKA needs to be addressed.

Excellent project, NT. I've made some bat houses but I mistakenly attached them to trees down by our little stream. I read in the article this isn't the best place for them so I think I'll throw together a couple more and mount them high at the gable ends of the shop. As for the size of hole they can get through, there are several who 'nest' in the cracks of the shakes covering the sides of the shop already. We used to see lots of them at twilight flitting around catching bugs. Not so many of them of late, unfortunately.
