Widening Joints, please let us know what they are and how many different ways they can be made. Enjoy!

okay, from the poll I know you are reading, but why isn't someone having a crack at the answer. I bet Verna already knows it, and Rapid Roger is just being shy! Or perhaps my questions suck.... Still as long as we are having fun that is all that really counts, and I am!

Come on people have a guess!

OK Eric, I'll give it a try but, I'm sure that I'll miss some, so others will be able to enlighten me.

Butt joint.
Biscuit joint
Dowell
Half Lap
Tongue and grove
finger joint? (usually used for corners but, I can see where it would give alot of glue area and strength)

At first all I could think of was a few smart aleky rude remarks. HOWEVER, believing that it wasn't a typo (wedding) I hit the ole reliable for a quick search. Lo and behold a whole lot of info I had never expected.

Good one. Keep them coming.

RAPID ROGER has a good list.

Just thought of another one...

Spline joint.....
And pocket hole joint (just about forgot that one too!)
Does anyone use nails any more?

Oh yea, and what they are....They are a way to make wider panels using narrower boards glued or other wise fastened edge to edge.

AHH Rapid Roger once more into the breach! Yup you got the idea, and quite a few of them. A widening joint if simple somthing to make a wider panel, or floor, or some other thing... I'm sure there are more, but just want RR to savour the pleasure of listing most of them.

If anyone else wants to chime in please do!

New question and poll soon!
