Not the answer I am looking for...

...The Tenon is square cut and the protuberances are on each face of the tenon.

I'm not sure of the proper name but I believe it is a form of wedged through mortise and tenon. The tenon is grooved on the cheeks and a forked shaped wedge is driven over the tenon with the 'tines' of the fork fitted in the tenon grooves. I thought it was a variation of a tusk tenon but guess that's not totally correct??

What I was looking for was a Hammer Head Tenon.

The original question was sourced from the 'Dusty Books' department but I found this information on the web for anyone who is interested; HERE

So I get to keep the points again

OK, nice easy one tonight then...
