Hmmm.... We are talking cabinet scraper here (Stanley No 80) not card scraper...

Well the card, #112 and #212 should be at 90.
And the #80 should be half that.

I think the above maybe correct.

Now Ralph,

Your original question referred to the angle to which the blade was usually ground. For the record, I agree that would be 45º. But as to whether it should be ground to 45º, I think that may be a matter of personal choice. I mean, it really doesn't matter, given that the hook determines the angle. Right? :D
