Hello all, I have been a pretty accomplished woodworker for 20 years. So my wife found a photo of this massive king bed she wants me to build. I love doing those type of projects. However while most of the detail on this bed are simple-the trim pieces at the corners are fluted but on a ramped or curved block. I do not have a horizontal router set up. If any of you could solve this ‘how to’ for me…I’m ready to make sawdust. I’ve attached a photo. Thank you for any advice. Jim in Franklin, TN

Hey Jim,

Since the piece is to be painted or heavily stained, you could make the trim piece up from four pieces, each one edge coved on a router table, then glued side by side. A little clean up might be necessary but all in all pretty simple.

Cheers,
Tom

Thanks for that tip…I never thought of that. I’ll give it a test run soon.

When my wife comes up with ideas that I can't make, I show her what I can make. and let her choose between what I can make, and the tools I'll have to buy to make what she wants.. (Which is how I get some tools that I only use occasionally. )
