After much research I’m thinking on using a water based poly urethane to finish this massive thick oak dining table I built. I just want to insure a very durable and food resistant finish. The product details seem in line with what I’m looking for…not to mention -it’s pretty affordable. I would prefer spraying it as opposed to wiping on. What do ya’ll think? Thanks for you comments. I guess that I am old fashioned. I prefer the oil based poly's. I tried the water based many years ago when they first came out and did not have good results. and have not tried any of the newer water based finishes.I would not be surprised if the newer ones are better than the earlier ones but since I have had good results with the oil based that is what I stick to.
