My wife needed something better for storing all her spools. She saw an ad for a box like this. (Currently on sale for "only" $1000!) Needless to say I spent nothing near that to make it.

Cherry, lock miters in the corners, wooden runners for the drawers.
Roughly 12" deep, 11" high, 9" wide. All 1/2" stock.

Should you decide to make a box with a front that slides under, here's a tip. The slot that the pins in the door ride in should be shaped like a capital T on it's side, with a very short cross-bar. You need the space above the long slot so the door can lift as it pivots down, otherwise the corner won't clear the bottom. You need the space below the long slot so the door doesn't pivot around the bullet catch when it's closed.

(apologies for sub-standard pics)

Great Job! I really love working with 1/2" cherry....made lotsa boxes with it but never one as ambitious as that one. I'll bet that becomes a treasured heirloom, Doc. Thank you for the inspiration!
