Hey Folks,
I just returned from a trip to Ireland, and while taking a walking tour of the ancient walled city of Derry (Londonderry) in Northern Ireland I took some photos of a very old cannon on the ramparts. The plaque says, "one of a pair", but there were several pairs placed at batteries along the wall. Each pair was donated to the city by a different guild.
The plaque also says the cannon is a "demi culvern" which, I think, makes it about equivalent to an 18 pounder.
Cheers,
Tom
