Wondering what you'll think?
It looks like it might good idea.
The large dust collectors* I have make too much noise, especially when using the lathe that is fairly quiet.
The lathe might take a larger blower. The dust collector does only a fair job with the lathe.
Hooking them up is a pain and the hoses get in the way, so I often don't use dust collection.
My plainer has a fairly good chip collection system.( DW735 )
I have access to small blowers as I do heating and air.

*Don't ask how but I've ended up with 3

Creative

If he uses that sander for his metal tools I'd be skiddish on fires.
Nice once in a lifetime project.
