Found these at a Estate sale today. $30 for the pair.
George, you might stop in at Sanford &Son on 45. The have a bunch of handplanes you might be interested in, since you've mentioned it a couple times. More like these I bought as well as some other all metal & transition planes of various makes and sizes. Give your ears a rest from that power planer
Anyway, here's what I bought:
The small one has the blade marked Ferrator, Made in Sweden. Body marked "42" on nose.
The large one; blade is Sergeant & Co. US Warranted. Tapered blade a little under 1/4" thick at the bevel, and the body on it is marked Renewatool Co 6.08. Both are in real good shape, flat soles, wedges are excellent with no damage.
No idea of the age of either, and wasn't able to find any useful info on the net. No matter really, just curious. These will be cleaned up and put back in service.
Anybody familiar with Ferrator in particular?
