A sharp saw blade!

I'll confess that since I don't use my table saw nearly to the extent that most others probably do, as the blade gradually dulled it wasn't as apparent as it should have been. Just mounted the newly sharpened Forrest WWll and ripped some curly maple. Man! What a difference. Went through an 8/4 timber like butter plus little to no burning.

As much as I admire Forrest for their blades and sharpening, I think this local sharp shop actually got it as sharp, maybe sharper than new it that were possible.

I guess it's time I put a new blade on mine also. I hate having to get a running start.

I do love the Forrest WWll blades I agree that they are a little pricey but worth it.
The Freud blades are good but not as good, but can be had localy as some big box stores

And did you know that they actually make blades for specific purposes?

I was ripping some ash with my Freud standard kerf blade. Thought I'd put my Freud thin kerf rip blade on. Almost couldn't keep up with the feed rate as it was going through the saw :D

Think it was a combination of my original blade being dull with at least one chipped tooth (upon further inspection) and using a blade designed for the task. I've since put a new blade on the saw and will be sending out my Freud for sharpening. :)

I've got one of the Freud glue line rip blades, too, and when sharp it really does rival the Forrest.
