As promised ... here's what's been occupying my time the past coupla months. Sorry, no 'before' fotos.

The tall cabinet in the middle is one of those Lee Valley pantry units:

Got quite a few 'atta-boys' from the kitchen boss for this one!

Still have some trim (door casings) and a new tile floor to go.

There was a window above the dryer that served less purpose than more shelf space so closed it off. Replaced the back door with a full ht. relite. Main purpose was to keep the dogs from jumping up trying to see out the half glazed old one. Plus the weather seals were toast, it was a raised panel door whereas all the rest of the doors (I've replaced over the past 12 years) are flush slabs.

All the cabinets are faced with Wilsonart P-Lam as well as the shelves for serviceability. Don't know why it's taken me over six months other than I hate drywall and painting with a passion!

Anyway, it's not exactly fine woodworking but has kept me occupied.

Thanks for sharing this, Dennis. Very well done and it is inspirational. Living alone I lack the motivation to revamp the living space but your pics give rise to some ideas that might bring smiles to the kids & grandkids that come visit me(and the beautiful area I live in) throughout the year.
Thanks,

Don

You need a professional assessment, Ron! :-D

(Just kidding. We bought this place as a retirement project. I'm beginning to wish I hadn't retired!)

Hi Paul -

Yes, Bosch washer & dryer. We originally had Maytag (both) but when the dryer konked out we decided to replace both. This is the first time we've lived with a septic sewer system and I was shocked to learn how much water a top loading washer uses. Robbie (wife) isn't sure the front loader gets the laundry as clean as the old dasher variety but sure does cut down on water consumption.

I thought that was about boats, LB?! (haha) But you're definitely spot on. We're to the point now where there's as much stuff to do maintenance wise as there is in left over projects.
