Frank (ice pirate) asked me if I had anything going on and.....duh.....why haven't I posted something? I have had some stuff going on and since there is such a small audience for me to bore.....

I was asked by SDFWWA (San Diego Fine WoodWorker's Association) to do a seminarette (15 minute presentation) on Handsaw sharpening. Turns out that is quite a challenge.....how can one even scratch the surface in 15 minutes??? Especially when I have developed a passion for it in the past year or two.
Well, I broke it down into segments and am now in the process of obtaining permission from various professionals & writers to supplement the verbal/visual presentation with handouts conveying more depth & detail. I will also take a saw bench, saw vise, saws, and an array of tools used for the process. I will, also, offer to assist any members wanting to try their hand at it....in my shop.

Like Dennis promised on the Scrap Pile thread, I'm going to take some pics of what I've been up to in my shop lately. I feel very remiss that I haven't shared more here....I've certainly enjoyed other folks sharing for many years. I've been here for 12 years and have less than 1800 posts...maybe time for me to do some pay back.
An 18 month old little girl has kept me busy for the last year....building rocking chair, stool, desk and other needs that come up but I'm starting on a shave horse which I desperately need to start completing some stools. chairs and tables that are causing labor pains for my little shop.

15 Minutes?!?!?!? That's not enough time to teach them how to use a file. Man, you have your work cut out for you. I have a 50 minute seminar to give on handgun practice and training in the home and having a tough time paring it down. I feel your pain.

I have a couple of projects I've been working on too. One is already in the finish room, but hospital visits and a new pup are keeping me pretty busy. That and 90+ degree days. Too hot to think straight.
