Wow, this is the coolest thing I've seen at the annual Rotary Auction in a long time. They say it was made in the 1920's, it will be part of the silent auction on Saturday. Looks to me like the hanging frames are about 36"? Whole thing how long do ya think? I'll find out at the preview Friday night (and what tools are hanging there to be included).

Pretty cool! I think you'd have to mount it very carefully on a sturdy wall. The thing probably weighs quite a lot when full and a lot of static leverage with the leaves sticking out would tend to pull it off the wall I imagine.

Hmmm.

First frame seems to have a saw-set, aluminum handled plane, and non-descript standard angle block,
third frame has a non-descript newer handsaw,
fifth frame has a nice breast drill, push drill, egg beater though the brace probably isn't anything special,
looks to be a backsaw in the eighth frame.

Would certainly be interesting to see what does remain in the other frames.

I've seen this construction once or twice before (are the frames butt-jointed??) ... but it's not a technique I'd employ as it takes up quite a lot of wall space.

I'd hang it so tight it would pull the wall down.
