This is the first cradle. Made from Brazilian Cherry. Very heavy and dense wood. The finish is Waterlox, 3 coats of sealer/finish and one coat of gloss finish. A bit of Mylands paste wax. It was a challenge for me, new stuff to do, like mortise and tenon joints. compound angles and lots of band saw work. Took me about 6 weeks of working a couple hours a day. The new owner loves it.

Very nice!
I have worked with Brazilian cherry before. Smoke came out of the holes every time I drilled it. Ruined all blades that touched it.

Those little bandsaw details really set it apart!

A family heirloom that will be handed down for generations no doubt.

Very nice!

Looks nice. If you make another, make it so you can dismantle and store afterward. Once the baby's out, they're really just shinbusters.

Pretty! I like it, Bob. And, if the young one loves it, that's even better.
