Greetings, all! I feel like I'm coming home. I was Sammy2sox 5+ years ago the last time accessed WWA. I still have two caps! Now I'm retired (mostly) with time for the fun things in life. I've been browsing and see familiar handles.

My question: I have a Wizard III Metal Detector, about 10 years old, which suddenly stopped working. I installed the battery I always store it with the battery removed), turned it on, it found the metal in my knee and the knife on the floor. Then the red indicator light stayed on solid and it detected no more. The 9 volt battery tested 8.6 volts. I put in a fresh 9 volt battery anyway with the same results.

I can see no way to disassemble it to look at the switch or indicators. I've browsed the web for troubleshooting, etc. and found nothing. Does anyone have any experience with this tool?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Dan in Minnesota

I'd think your next step would be to contact the company. Look for their web site and pull their contact information from there.

Welcome back!
