Hey Folks,
Sometimes it's nice to take break and make something just for yourself. I can thank my loving wife for this time. For Christmas, she bought me the hardware and blades for the Gramercy bow saw. The frame is red oak, and the knobs are some plumb tree bits that Dennis gave me a few years ago (thanks buddy).
Cheers,
Tom

Nice!

Glad that plumb came to such good use.

Hey Ron,

I can do better than that, here are the plans.

Cheers,
Tom

I'm really not trying to be a jerk, but is that a typo, or is there a type of wood called "plumb", not plum? I can't find anything about "plumb wood" on Google.

Hey drstrip,

Sorry, autocorrect got in the way there. Yes, plum as in a Prunus sp.

Cheers,
Tom

That really looks great.
Nice clean lines and not so big as to be ungainly.

Imagine how nice and straight the walls in our homes would be if there was such a thing as "plumb wood".
:D

TMS: What is the draw weight on that beast

Sorry, took another look at the photo and knowing about your archery pastime, couldn't resist.

Beautiful work Tom !!! I'm curious what you will be using that saw for. Got any projects in mind?

Again, wonderful attention to detail.

Hey Doug,

Nothing planned for the saw at this time. It's just part of my plan to enter my dotage with a suite of exquisite hand tools, and give up the machines.
Currently, I'm working on a commissioned computer work station for a friend of a friend. More on that later.

Cheers,
Tom
