If it's a narrow drawer I'd go under, but for anything more than 12" wide I'd go for side mounts.

side mount. Full extension or even over-extension, depending on the application.

After building all our kitchen cabinets with side mount full extension, I would use undermount if there were a next time. Reason? The hardware isn't all that attractive exposed on the sides of the drawers. However, undermount looks like it would be a new learning experience.

Hey Ralph,

I've only ever used side mount, largely because they can be adjusted to center the drawer vertically in the opening. I'd be interested to hear if there is a similar adjustment available via the center mount.

Cheers,
Tom

Am I doing it wrong? Close the drawers and you won't see the side glides.

Under bottom types are already challenged by the Physics of leverage.

Guess that would work if I never wanted anything out of the drawer! (grin)

Don't know how but there are under mount guides rated for some pretty heavy loads.
