That is VERY interesting to me. I do mostly small projects and have been thinking of a drum sander for some time.
Where did you find this one? How wide of stock will it take? How thick and/or thin of stock will it take?
I don't have much room in the shop so a larger one would be my first choice but, I may just be interested in a smaller size.
Thanks for posting and if you can get a better (closer) picture of this sander I would appreciate it.

Rog

Just Googled it. Sorry, I don't think I'm that interested after all. 5" wide and 1/2" thick at that price is not quite enough for me. My projects are more along the modeling size but, I would also like to be able to go as large as 8" and at least 1" thick if I could.

I looked it up and found this page:

http://www.micromark.com/microlux-drum- ... ,8599.html

"Sands wood up to 1/2 inch thick and 5 inches wide."

I'll tell you what, a little pricey at $320, but it certainly would fit in a small shop.
If only it went to 3/4" .

Darn it!
Now there's something else I think I need!

ETA:
Apparantly Byrnes has one as well:

http://www.byrnesmodelmachines.com/sander1.html

And, they do up to 1 5/16" ... no listing for width though?

Thanks for that Dan.
That is a bit closer to what I could use.
The drum is 6" wide so I would guess that would be the ability of the machine. And 1-5/16" thickness would do it for me. And the price isn't all that much different for the added sanding abilities.
Guess I'll wait until after the Christmas bills get added up right now though.
