Stripped and repaired this for a friend. She wants to paint it herself and has the cushion being redone at an upholstery shop. The old glue had crystalized and most of the joints were loose or had already come loose. Several parts cracked and some of the dowels were broken. I had to take it apart and rebuild it after stripping off the old paint. Basically it was ready for the landfill.

I added the bottom rail and the diagonal braces to the back for stability.

This is what I started with.
