Here's a little (4"x6") box I made today.
Four layers, offset and glued. The lid is rabbeted on the bottom edge to sit neatly in the body.

Beauty! What wood, and how did you get that wave effect on the top?

the wood is some not very good cherry, hence the odd color.
The waves are cut with a 45° chamfer bit and a CNC router.
