Here's a take off on the box I made for a former student. This one is for my other sister in law.
I used some really nice claro walnut for this one. I micro sanded the top to 32000, and then a couple coats of Watco Danish.

I really like the top piece of wood.

The project is sitting on a lap board I made for my wife.
