I was cleaning up and pulled out a bunch of jigs and templates. I need to decide what I am going to keep. How many do you have? I find that I use a lot of these over and over again.

Probably not more than a dozen at any one time, and I tend to recycle the one-trick-pony types of jigs into something else as the need arises. I don't do production runs of identical items, so no need to keep a bunch of those things lying around.

Others, such as my BS aux table, shooting board, sled, etc. I'll keep forever.

I'm like Gene; if the jig or template or fixture is for a one-off project I'll generally canabalize it for parts to something else when the time comes. Meaning, in a sense, I keep most things around until there isn't much left of them to use for anything else. Then it goes in the shop stove. Very little wood goes out the door in any form other than a finished product.

Well, some of it goes in the fire pit for a wiener roast when the kids come up.

I don't have a lot of room to store jigs but I keep a few that I use more than once - shooting boards, mortising jig, tenon jig.

Eliminate over time. Put a last used date on all your jigs anything that you see you haven't used in a while recycle it.
I would also look into combining a few jigs. May of my jigs ether get flipped over or flipped end for end. That way what I store does double duty.
Good luck shop organization is a struggle for us all.
