We're installing trim, casings, and baseboards as well as interior doors this weekend at the Newbanks project. I cleared enough space on and around my outfeed table to be able to cut a few pieces last night and get an initial coat of finish on them for trimming out my kitchen bookshelves. Hopefully that trend will continue on Sunday if I'm not too worn out!

What are you working on this weekend?

Well, my wife is in town this weekend, so it really depends on her mood. It will probably be along the lines of trimming the hedge, cleaning the house, (afterall, I am a pig  ), may get the chance to work on a bench swing we're building for the WY home, (built the frame for it last week), or maybe a couple of small boxes. The shop is in a pretty sorry state as I've been doing some rush work and leaving the place in all manner of disarray. So I'll also have to get it straightened up and re arranged.

Wish me luck.

Cleaning up a new-to-me DeWalt 20" Type 1 Scroll Saw......a Craig's List find for only $198.98 :D :D The table has some surface rust, but no pitting, so it should clean up very nicely. I saw it about 20 minutes after it was posted, and it was in my truck within 90 minutes of it being posted  Don't ask how many scroll saws I have now.....

At least I did think ahead on this scroll saw. I tightened all of the bolts while it was still laying in the truck, and then I put locking casters on it to help me get it into my house. So much easier handling then than the last ones I purchased.

And, celebrating both of my sisters' birthdays. My older sister will be 60 and two days later my younger sister will be 50  My baby sister is going to be 50??????? I guess I'll have to take a cordless drill to drill holes in their dry yards so I can put the pink flamingos in their front yards

Congrats Brian. Looks like a real sweetie.

Tom is bringing over the desktop and another cabinet top. If all goes well I might get to start finishing all this cherry next week.

Remembering Sep. 11, 2001. An hour in the morning in the shop, doing not much. Then watching the memorials and drinking. Same as I did then, and every year since.

Celebrate I have spent the week doing (enduring) all kind of tests cat skans etc. We are suspending chemo treatments for now everything has shrunk to normal or close and the levels all look good. The doctor said it would be several weeks before I get my energy back. So a quiet celebration. Hopefully next week I can try salt and pepper shakers for the contest.

I'm going to remember the day and the meaning. Then I will hopefully install the end vice on my bench. I thought I would get this done last weekend, even on a 3 day holiday I couldn't accomplish the task.

Here are the parts.

Here is the assembly glued and ready.

It was just one thing after another, like assembling a puzzle by taking a piece out before you can add another. I need the table edge ready to mount along with the vice, so I cut dovetails by hand and routed bread board ends. Long week at work but ready to get back at it. Here we go.

Brian, congratulations on the newborn, best of health to all concerned.
