Made a couple kitchen things for a friend of wife a couple weeks ago. She came by today to raid the garden, so gave them to her. Got paid with a hug and a smile and the look on her face. :D Sometimes that's better than cash. 8)

Also, dove season opener today, so everybody is blazing away. I expect we'll get a couple dozen given to us in the next day or 2. :-D

What's not to like? How will you cook the birds?

Varies. Some smoked, some roasted, etc. Probably won't boil any  :D

Nice stuff. Love that cutting board. I've been reading up on how to make the end grain ones and want to try one for a Xmas present.

Used to do some dove hunting in my college days, love to shoot and eat em!

If you catch me stealing veggies from your garden will you shower me with home made gifts and give me hugs too?

No. You would be more likely to catch a load of rock salt in your rear end.

LOL

BTW, when you make your final table saw cuts for the end grain cutting board, you are cutting across the grain using the fence I guess?

Did you use a croscutting blade or a combo blade? I've been doing some research to build a few of these and haven't seen that addressed.

I rarely change blades, and nearly always have my freud combo mounted. Does a fine job on most everything. I use a sled with a stop block for the final cuts. Much safer and more accurate.

Well as I suspected, one of the cousins came over today and dropped off 2 dozen dove. :D So I reckon I'll have to fire up the bbq one day soon. Just wrap them in a bacon strip and cook till done :-D :)

The cutting board looks three dimensional in the photo. Very nice arrangement of the pieces, Gene.

I was admiring that too, might copy Gene's geometry on that one.

BTW, I like your signature, that may hang up in my shop this year at school!

Trust me, the way it turned out was almost pure accidental. Had a bunch of sticks of various width, so planned them all to the same thickness for the first glue up. I think I arranged them by width, but it gets confusing after that.
