Voting for the 3rd quarter-1st session contest has ended.

Amateur Bill turned both the Cherry and the Imbula pen/pencil set.

Mr. Smith turned the Ebony pen/pencil set.

Mr. Smith received the most votes (9) for his Ebony set.

Bill's Imbula set received 7 votes and his Cherry set received 6 votes.

These are all wonderful creations and both Verna and I are glad that we didn't have to pick a winner.

I am going to ask 2 things:

That Mr. Smith & Bill send me a PM, I want to see how much for their sets.

And I would like some comments from everyone as to why they liked the set they voted for. So post your comments below;

On Wednesday night I will be announcing the session #2 contest.

Thanks to all for your participation!!!!!!

Mr Smith, Congratulations on the win. I have tried to turn ebony and it seems to crack every time. Once 3 days after it was done.

I have not seen that style of pen/pencil set, may I ask where you got it?

I voted for my Cherry set because I don't care for a really shiny finish, Although the Imbula looks pretty good.

Bill

I thought the set in cherry demonstrated a degree of restraint some pen turners fail to exercise. They looked like they would fit most comfortably in my hand and participate, rather than compete with the task of writing. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for anyone who could/can turn ebony. That pen/pencil set was beautifully done. However I think 'd be more inclined to write rather than type if I had that cherry set.

Sorry for the windbag mode, Chance. You asked for comments.

I voted for the Imbula set, because I liked the shape and the grain/color. I have large hands, so I like a little heftier pen.

I voted for the cherry set because I liked the color and the grain the best. Besides, I was fairly sure it was turned by my brother. :D
I own a set of the same style and they are comfy to use.
Congrads to Mr Smith on the win. I understand that ebony is very difficult to turn and can cause problems but, I'm not that fond of black.
