How to assemble a pine bench kit.
Start with some pine lumber.

Do some cutting and shaping.

Put on some finish.

Don't forget the back pannel.

And then, there is some assembly required.

There are only 12 screws holding it together and no glue. (how to avoid glue squeese-out) :D
I built it for my daughter-in-laws Christmas gift but, I think she will get it long before Christmas. It just takes up too much room in the shop.
Hope you enjoy my instructions on building a bench from a kit. :D
Oh yea, it is made from 'big box' 'white lumber' and finished with shellac sealer, provincial stain (dye) and two coats gloss polyurethane.
Yes, I did use some plans (I've made two others before) but I changed the plans somewhat in making the storage area under the seat.

Nice job Rog, now who said you can't make fine furniture out of pine.

Have a great day.

I wouldn't call that 'FINE' furniture! It is the best of the three that I have made but, "fine"? I think not!
My wife and Mo want me to inter it in the fair this next month but, I think they would probably ask me to remove it from the fair grounds at first sight!

Exactly!!
As a matter of fact, that is exactly how I kept track of the pieces.
I was concerned with 'front', 'back', 'right', 'left' and what order the back pieces went in.
I used 'A', 'B' etc as well as '1', '2' etc. and of course, I screwed that up in one instance!!!

Now that's just slick... love it!

The headboard portion would be a perfect place for some country type carvings too
